Overview

Identify plants, flowers, cacti, succulents and mushrooms in seconds with the click of a button on your mobile device.

With the concept of creating the biggest scientific database of plants and also striving to make it fun and easy for the young generations to interact with nature and grow up in the spirit of protecting this amazing planet we live on.

I was the main designer working on this project in March 2020.

The Problem

Giving users the ability to save their favorite plants in real-time meant making fundamental changes to the way artificial intelligence have worked since PlantAv App started. Historically, a customer’s plant identity would automatically save in the database for better representation and tracking.

Diverging from a structure to pave the way for Instant Identification required a ground-up rethinking of the way artificial intelligence and machine learning are organized and displayed on the PlantAv app.

Research

Determined to make the new contributions feature work the way users want, we conducted rounds of user testing with iterations based on feedback.

Connecting with fellow nature enthusiasts around the world and share your snaps with other users worldwide!

Share pictures of the plants you snap on the user's Social Feed.

However, we thought it was crucial for users to access their plant contributions immediately, anytime they want.

Complex challenges like this were among several identified during user research sessions, and validating this and other solutions before implementation was key to our turnaround.
